The Consultants at Alabama Public Library Service have over 90 years of combined library experience in a variety of library settings including public, corporate, and academic. Each Consultant represents a Congressional District and is responsible for the guidance and well-being of the libraries in their District. All of the Consultants have Master’s Degrees in Library Sciences and have particular areas of expertise.

Alisa has been with APLS since 2010. She is responsible for adult programming, E-Rate, collection development, disaster preparedness, and weeding. She has 14 years of professional library experience and provides consultant services for the following counties: Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Escambia, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Mobile, Monroe, Sumter, Washington, and Wilcox

Gail returned to Alabama from Maryland and began working at APLS in 2016. Her responsibilities at APLS include children’s and youth services. She also has expertise in library planning and construction. Gail has 10 years of professional library experience and provides consultant services for the following counties: Bibb, Cullman, Etowah, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Winston

Ken has worked at APLS since August 2010 in the Blind and Physically Handicapped Division and as a Library Consultant since December 2012. Ken is the primary contact person for Evergreen ILS and all OCLC products including WorldCat and WorldShare. Ken has 21 years of professional library experience and provides consultant services for the following counties: Blount, Colbert, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan

Rhonda has been with the Alabama Public Library Service since February 2016. She has been a professional librarian for 35 years. Her areas of expertise are continuing education, policy and procedure development, information literacy, and long-range planning. She provides consultant services for the following counties: Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Butler, Chilton, Coffee, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Dallas, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Jefferson, Lowndes, Montgomery, Perry, and Pike

Stephanie Taylor, Library Consultant 334-213-3943
Stephanie Taylor started at APLS in July 2010. She manages State Aid for public libraries and promotes grants of interest. Additionally, she has served as the State Data Coordinator for Alabama since 2010, which entails administering the Public Library Survey, assisting libraries with their completion of the surveys, and compiling data for public use. Stephanie has 11 years of professional library experience and provides consultant services for the following counties: Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, and Tallapoosa
