Alabama Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (BPH)
The Alabama Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (BPH) serves patrons in 64 of Alabama’s 67 counties. Remaining counties in the state are served by one subregional library that works cooperatively with BPH to provide National Library Service (NLS) materials for patrons in their local service areas. The Talladega Subregional Library is located on the campus of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) in Talladega and it serves patrons in the tri-county area of Calhoun, St. Clair and Talladega. Patrons using the catalog may choose from a wide variety of recreational and basic informational audio or “Talking Books” which are available on digital cartridges from libraries or for download by the patrons themselves using BARD. Braille titles are available as well. Wide varieties of magazines are available on digital cartridge or through download. BPH, through NLS, maintains its Online Catalog of all titles available (more than 281,000 records in February 2021) for loan through its holdings.
